Best Items to Sell on eBay

A very common question I receive is "What are the best items to sell on eBay?" I love this question, because the obvious answer is almost any item can be sold on eBay. Finding the "Best" really means finding the best items for YOU personally to sell on eBay. I will give you my story as inspiration and give you some guidance, because there is a way to do it, a method that can help you find a niche, and that is what I am going to share with you. I will give you all the exploring tools and point you in toward the adventure, but you need to go out an explore for yourself what the best items to sell on eBay could be.

The best method to find items to sell on eBay is to purchase what I like to call "Junk Lots" or "Estate Lots." These lots hold the key to your vintage adventure and you will find many, many items to sell on eBay from one single lot. The reason these particular lots are so good is many times it is a low volume casual seller that had a family member who passed on and now is tasked with selling their goods. A lot of times the house "Junk Drawer" get cleaned out and the entire lot is put up for sale. This is true for lifelong collections as well. I have bought many, many collections over the years and turn around and sell the individual items back to other collectors. It is really fun and profitable.

Once you get a junk lot, go through the items and do a little bit of research: check out "eBay Selling Item Research: The Deep Dive"

Once you go through this "junk lot" you may find you have some of the junk has turned to treasures. This is when you start listing your items on eBay. Once you have listed your items some of the treasures and junk will start selling. Sell everything in your junk lot, even if you think you can only get a few dollars. As you start to sell items from these lots take note of what is selling and what is not selling. From my personal experience, I listed a few Crosses and Christian pendants and they started selling, so I started an entire eBay store dedicated to selling Vintage Christian Jewelry since I knew it would sell. I bought large lots of vintage cross lots I found by searching eBay for "vintage Christian jewelry lots." I would buy many lots, sort them, and list the individual crosses. I

So that is the failsafe technique you can use to find a niche. The other amazing thing, is that selling items from "Estate Junk Lots" is a niche all itself. One that I also have created a store for. I buy fun lots, research the items and resell them individually on eBay. This is one of the best ways to find things to sell on eBay.

Another way to find the best things to sell on eBay is to look at trends. I use Google Trends to find things that might be hot. You can search any niche. I chose Toys and then scrolled down to see what toys were trending and saw "Fidget Spinners" though it seems the interest peaked already but, this is just an example. After seeing this you may want to look for new old stock for fidgets spinners from years ago and buy up a lot and resell them on eBay. Use this tool with areas of your interest and search for what is trending. Then see if you can find some vintage lots or even new lots if that is your cup of tea, and jump on the trend. Just be aware that you may need to jump from trend to trend over time and that, that business model is tough.
